cast iron dog figurines by iwachu, a nanbu ironware maker in morioka, japan — a sitting parent dog and a puppy. heavy enough to use as paperweights.
a dog, sitting, waiting for you to finish whatever you're doing at your desk. a smaller one waiting behind him.
solid cast iron from Iwachu, a nanbu ironware maker in morioka, japan. two sizes: the parent dog, the puppy.
this page said "japan's largest nanbu ironware maker since 1902" until september, which was wrong on both counts. iwachu's own site gives its founding as june 1908 and doesn't call itself the largest, so neither do we.
hand-cast, expect minor variation in finish piece to piece.
material: cast iron (nanbu tekki) maker: Iwachu, morioka puppy: 2.2 x 1.6 x 1.0 in, 6.3 oz (5.5 x 4 x 2.5 cm, 180 g) parent: 3.0 x 2.1 x 1.2 in, 13.9 oz (7.5 x 5.3 x 3 cm, 395 g) scale: about 1:8 against a medium dog sitting. in a 1:12 dollhouse, two big dogs heads up: heavy for its size — it's a paperweight, not a toy for actual dogs.
no instructions included. the dog already knows he's not moving.
