a resin desk figurine of a terracotta warrior sitting on a toilet, typing on a laptop — weathered clay-look finish, in two sizes: about 3.5 in / 9 cm or 7.9 in / 20 cm tall.
full armor. topknot tied, scale plates on, boots planted on the base. and he's on the toilet with a laptop, typing like that meeting could have been an email.
the real terracotta army — around 8,000 clay soldiers buried near xi'an with china's first emperor — was found in 1974 by farmers digging a well. most of them have been standing at attention for more than 2,000 years. this one found a seat.
i grew up in xi'an. as a kid i dug in our backyard hoping to find one. i found an old instant-noodle wrapper. this is the closest i've got.
heads up: it's resin painted to look like old fired clay, not real terracotta — lighter, and not an antique. the laptop screen is blank. the small one is about coffee-mug height; the large one is a proper desk statue.
