a 30 cm bust with a nostril you could lose a fingernail in, down to a 4.3 cm full-body figure smaller than the goldfish it's going in with. some wear a red pukao — the topknot cut from red scoria at Puna Pau, a different quarry from the one at Rano Raraku that cut the heads, and hoisted on only once the moai was already standing. some don't.
i went to rapa nui two years ago and came home without the souvenir i actually wanted. found these a long while later. one of them has been in my tank ever since.
heads up: it's cast, not carved — volcanic rock granules in a cement binder, not a solid block of stone. the maker calls the mix ph-neutral and says it goes straight into fresh or salt water; that's their testing, not mine. if you keep anything sensitive, soak it first and check your ph before it joins the fish.
